About

Chi Rho Phi is one of the youngest social clubs at Ouachita Baptist University, and is designed to develop discipleship among its members.  Read on to learn about our history, activities, and all kinds of ways that we use to bond us as sisters, both in the club and in the body of Christ.

“The fact that I am a woman does not make me a differnt kind of Christian,

but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman.”

~ Elisabeth Elliott

Chi Rho Phi began as an idea of Jodi Wozniak when she saw that sometimes the Bible studies on campus were not filling the need that some girls had for accountability.  They did not require the commitment or offer all of the fellowship opportunities that social clubs had the potential of doing.  So God directed Jodi to nine girls that became the charter members of the club.

It took over seven months to get the final charter but the officially became a club on Novemeber 30, 1999, just in time to get organized for their first rush and pledge class.  That class of 2000 had five pledges and they quickly became an essential part of the group.  Pledge classes ever since have been adding their own personality and traditions to Chi Rho Phi.

This past January the most recent pledge class added another generation of girls to the sisterhood.  While we have fun and participate in tons of activities, our focus still remains on discipling each other and preparing ourselves for ministry as a vital part of the body of Christ.
